Rewards For Cloud Host

The Aethir network employs a reward system to incentivize participation and ensure the network's smooth operation. The rewards are distributed in ATH tokens and are primarily based on two key mechanisms: Proof of Capacity (PoC) and Proof of Delivery (PoD). Rewards are proportional based on the Utility Ratio (UR) of the network which is calculated as stated below.

Currently, UR is set at 0.5 for the network, meaning PoC and PoD earn rewards in an even 50/50 split.

  1. Total Weighted Online Time of the System

  2. Total Weighted Rendering Time of the System

  3. Average Total Utility Ratio

Proof of Capacity (PoC) Rewards

  • Purpose: PoC rewards are designed to encourage participants to maintain their computational resources (containers) online and available for rendering tasks, even when not actively processing jobs. This ensures a consistent and reliable pool of resources for the network.

  • Eligibility: Any container that remains online and meets the network's uptime requirements is eligible for PoC rewards.

  • Calculation: The total PoC reward pool is determined based on the network's overall utilization and activity. Individual rewards are then calculated proportionally, considering factors such as the container's K-value (reflecting its performance and capabilities) and its online time.

  1. Total Proof of Capacity Reward per 24 hours:

  2. Individual Proof of Capacity Reward per 24 hours:

  • Ki: the value of K for the i_th container. (See K-Value Table)

  • Rendering Timei: Rendering time of the i_th container.

  • n represents the total number of containers

Proof of Delivery (PoD) Rewards

  • Purpose: PoD rewards are granted for the successful completion of rendering tasks. This incentivizes participants to actively contribute their computational power to process rendering jobs and deliver high-quality results.

  • Eligibility: Containers that actively participate in rendering tasks and successfully complete them within the specified timeframe are eligible for PoD rewards.

  • Calculation: The total PoD reward pool is also influenced by the network's utilization and activity. Individual rewards are calculated based on the complexity and size of the completed rendering tasks, as well as the container's K-value.

  1. Total Proof of Work Reward per 24 hours:

  • Total Reward per 24 hours: All Token reward in that 24 hours

  1. Individual Proof of Work Reward per 24 hours:

  • Ki: the value of K for the i_th containers. (See K-Value Table)

  • Rendering Timei: Rendering time of the i_th container.

  • n represents the total number of containers.

Reward Distribution

  • Schedule: Rewards are calculated every 24 hours and distributed daily at 00:00 UTC.

  • Vesting: To promote long-term participation and network stability, a portion of the rewards is vested over time. Typically, 30% of the rewards are released immediately, 30% after 90 days, and the remaining 40% after 180 days.

  • Platform Fee: A 5% protocol fee is deducted from the total rewards before distribution to cover operational costs and support further development.

Early Withdrawal

  • Option: Participants have the option to claim their unreleased rewards early.

  • Penalty: An early withdrawal incurs a 75% penalty on the claimed amount.

  • Matching: The platform matches the early claimed amount, prioritizing the most distant reward for release.

  • Minimum Withdrawal: Early withdrawal has a minimum amount limit, initially set at 30 ATH, which may be adjusted through DAO voting in the future.

Additional Notes

  • The reward system is designed to be dynamic and adaptable to the network's evolving needs.

  • The specific reward calculations and distribution mechanisms may be subject to future adjustments through community governance and DAO voting.

  • It's essential to stay updated on the latest information and announcements regarding the Aethir reward system to make informed decisions about your participation.
